We are the most unique food tour in New York. We are a true eating tour, not a sampling tour! Choose what you like and eat as much as you like. Food On Foot Guided Tours takes you beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll share our passion for all things New York and you'll travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and/or foot. And you'll enjoy great reasonably priced non-gourmet quality food away from the tourist areas. We also are known for providing unbiased restaurant recommendations during a break on each tour to help our guests eat great and save money for their whole trip. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the melting pot of the world, its vast array of cuisines is its shared culture.

Our tour is a QUALITY FRESH FOOD EATING TOUR. It is NOT a sampling, gourmet or food preparation and information tour. Unlike standard sampling food tours YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN FOOD and you have the option of pre-paying for a food credit with Platinum Tickets or paying as you go with Gold Tickets & SuperSaver TIckets. Most people average about $20 for food on the tour based on sharing, not including beverages and the tour will replace a meal. Each guest needs to arrive at the check-in with a one-ride (if staying in the Times Square area), two-ride or unlimited METROCARD (subway pass) and since this is first and foremost an eating tour we want you to experience the city and its eateries the same way New Yorkers do. That means THERE ARE WAITING TIMES for food to be prepared and for people to finish. That’s why we are a relaxed informal getting-to-know other people, see neighborhoods mingling tour. You experience NY as a local. We are not a small group or private tour (our groups go up to around 40 people when sold out). We are an eating tour with some neighborhood history and NOT a history tour with food. If you love choosing what you eat, meeting other people (although you don't have to) and taking in a non-tourist area this tour is for you.

Each stop is a surprise but you are not obligated to purchase items at any location. Because we go to permanent locations we cannot change the geography and “move” the shops, so there is no set order such as savory to sweet or smaller to larger items. There are usually many choices at each location. Many of our stops are at smaller places so there is both inside and outside eating on each tour and walking with food. Remember, we are FOOD ON FOOT so many places do not have seating and bathrooms are available but limited on each tour. Please remember our tour includes the subway (most NY subway stations are not handicapped accessible) and plenty of walking. If you are handicapped please call us to find out how we might be able to accommodate you. Part of the tour time involves traveling and a tour introduction period. Tours are rain or shine. Tour times are usually accurate within 15 minutes but we cannot control circumstances such as mass transit or unexpected restaurant issues that are out of our control.

Online Gold Tickets are for vendor and pass partner programs only. Refundable ONLY as follows for ALL Gold Ticket holders: up to 168 hours (one week) before the tour start time for a $12 per ticket cancellation fee/between 168 hours and up to 48 hours before the tour start time for a $18 per ticket cancellation fee/between 48 hours and 24 hours before the tour start time for 50% of full ticket value which is a $24.50 cancellation fee by sending an e-mail to tours@foodonfoottours.com (this e-mail will be your cancellation record, no phone cancellations permitted). For All Platinum Ticket Holders- $15 up to 48 hours before the tour start time/$20 between 48 and 24 hours. Strictly no cancellations within 24 hours. Cancellation fees increase as the tour gets closer because our chance of being able to fill your space(s) decreases as the tour gets closer.

For All Gold Ticket Holders: $12 up to 168 hours (one week) before the tour start time/$18 between 168 and 48 hours before the tour start time and $24.50 (50% of ticket value) between 48 and 24 hours before the tour start time. Strictly no cancellations within 24 hours. Cancellation fees increase as the tour gets closer because our chance of being able to fill your space(s) decreases as the tour gets closer.

For SuperSaver Ticket Holders: Like any concert, sporting event or show there are no refunds once you make your purchase. Do not
purchase these tickets if you need a refund option.

Pass Holders for NY Pass, Smart Destinations, Go Card, Explorer Pass & Sightseeing Pass must book online and are required to enter pass information and place a credit card down for security to purchase Gold Tickets. IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS CONFIRMATION. Take the five minutes out now to avoid any misunderstandings later as this is a unique and different experience. This tour meets in Midtown.


Tours do not wait. Arrive at least 15 minutes early, not at the posted tour time. That is the official departure time. If you miss the tour there is no way to contact us. Our obligation is to those who show up on time. We need time to check everyone in. Our policy does not vary: There are no refunds within 24 hours no matter what type of ticket you have or how or who you booked with even if you miss the tour by one minute. Our tickets should be treated the same as any concert, show or sports event. Once you purchase a ticket it is yours as we cannot sell it once you have it, however, Platinum & Gold Tickets have courtesy cancellation options for a fee (see terms on the booking platform or below). Treat us like a boat cruise. if you miss the boat, you miss the tour. We are the same. We live here and we leave extra time when we have to be somewhere. This is a midtown neighborhood tour away from the tourist areas with multiple cuisine stops including at least one sweet stop. We will not be using the subway so no MetroCard (subway pass) or ONMY payment is required. The tour ends a few blocks from Times Square. Important tour information is noted throughout this confirmation and some is repeated below.

*Please remember that you signed up for a large group formatted tour so cooperation with your guide to have the tour run smoothly for everyone is appreciated. This is not a private tour or a small group tour. Waits at each stop are part of the relaxed meet & mingle part of the tour. If you have taken standard food tours in NY or other cities, we are not that. We want to be clear that our tours are a unique experience and very different from a standard small group food tour format.


*Read below for what you receive with the type of ticket you signed up for. If you booked through a third-party vendor, it is the VENDOR THAT DECIDES WHAT TICKET YOU RECEIVE. WE DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THAT and not all guests will have the same ticket as you.

This hold expires within 24 to 72 hours after you complete your tour. If you have GOLD TICKETS and do not show up or do not take the tour or do not take the tour a minimum of two stops the security hold becomes a full charge for the retail amount of your tickets. Checking-in and leaving is not permitted with Gold Tickets as your program will not pay us if you do that (you must stay two stops). We reserve the right to charge you for your GOLD TICKETS and refund your card after the tour. We often do this for larger groups or buyers who have had a card issue.

THIS IS YOUR EXACT MEETING POINT: W. 50th St. between 8th & 9th Av. under the OVERHANG of the Worldwide Plaza Office Building. We do not meet on 8th Av. or at the corner.


Here are your meeting point details:


WORLDWIDE PLAZA-Office Building between W. 49th St. and W. 50th St. between 8th and 9th Av. with the front of the building on 8th Av. We meet on the W. 50th St. side of the building under the covered outdoor portion of the building closer to 8th Av. There is a pizza restaurant called Don Antonio, 309 W. 50th St. (use only this address for GPS). If you spot that restaurant, you will find your meeting point on the other side of W. 50th St. UNDER-THE-OVERHANG of the Worldwide Plaza office building. Both the C and E trains stop right by Worldwide Plaza at the 50th St. station during regular service times if you are using the subway to meet us. In addition, the 1 train to 50th St. at Broadway and the N, R and W trains to 49th St. at 7th Av. are a short, approximately one block walk away as are the B ,D ,F and M trains one block farther at the Rockefeller Center station (47th/50th St.) at 6th Av. The B & D trains also stop at the 7th Av. station at 53rd St. B trains are weekday only.(check the MTA website-www.mta.org for any service changes-mostly on nights and weekends).



FOOD ON FOOT QUICK TOUR TIPS-


1- Even if you plan on using a credit card to pay for food (All Gold & Supersaver Ticket Holders) we ask that you bring a minimum of $25 cash in small bills of $1, $5 and $10 as a backup. Only Platinum Tickets come with a food credit. Most guests spend about $20 to $25 for food on the tour, not including beverages. If you purchased through an online service or partner program, please check the offering from your provider. Again, you must bring some cash.


2- No subway pass or fare is required for this tour.


3- Be prepared to shut your phone off for the introduction period.


4- There are no cancellations within 24 hours. See below for cancellation options up to 24 hours before the tour start time based on your ticket type. All cancellations incur a fee. All tickets are a purchase, not a reservation.


5- Be 15 minutes early. Tours do not wait and you cannot contact anyone. It is strictly your responsibility to be at the meeting point on time.


6- Print out or have your confirmation on your phone for easy reference. There are no physical tickets. Your name will be on a list.


7- Ticket License: Food On Foot Tours sometimes takes pictures on our tours. By taking the tour and purchasing and using your tickets you agree that Food On Foot Tours may use pictures taken on the tour in any way they like. In addition, if you are purchasing tickets for a group it is your responsibility to notify your guests of this provision. Please share this confirmation with your guests. 8- If you like the tour please tip your guide, as that is the custom in New York. As it is in restaurants it is customary practice in New York to tip your guide 15% to 20% per person of the retail value of your tour if you liked the tour. No tip is required at counter service food places but a tip cup is usually present if you would like to do so.

General New York, Restaurant Tip & Subway Information:


As it is in restaurants it is customary practice in New York to tip your guide 15% to 20% per person of the retail value of your tour if you liked the tour. Tipping is personal and the gratuity amount is totally at your discretion. At sit-down restaurants tip 15 to 20% of the pre-tax portion of the bill based on quality of service. Know that some restaurants, especially in tourist areas, add a service charge because non-U.S. residents often do not tip. If you see a service charge you do not need to tip. That is double dipping and in some cases, may be a way to trick you to inflate the check and just another reason to avoid eating in tourist areas or at chain or tourist restaurants. It is important to remember that in NY, tips are part of a server’s actual living so please tip properly. At counter service places you may put money in the tip jar but you are not obligated to leave a tip.


Your feedback is important. We'd prefer if you let us know right away if you do or don't like something. Many people will not tell us if there's something they don't like. We'll often be able to explain why we do what we do and many times that helps our guests have a better understanding of why we do certain things a certain way on the tour. Please don't leave without talking to us. We have a passion for what we do and really care about our guests.


If you are using the subway and there is a delay, switch to another line on the same platform, even if it is a local instead of an express, if the delay is only on the line (letter or number) you are on. You can also walk to a nearby line or if you are within walking distance go to another line. In Manhattan, a downtown train is going toward lower numbered streets (not avenues) or sometimes streets below Houston (HOW-STON, not YOU-STON) including Chinatown, Little Italy, Financial District/Wall Street, Soho, Tribeca. Uptown trains go from the neighborhoods mentioned and to numbered and higher number streets up to and including the Bronx. Crosstown trains go east to west and west to east (such as the J, L, S & Z) and others do both (E, M, 7). Not all lines run at all times or stop at every stop. We have both express and local stops. Because we are a 24 hour system track work is done almost every day and lines are often rerouted or canceled mostly nights and weekends. Leave extra times nights and weekends as trains are much less frequent. Insider tip: Check the mta.org website or app every morning for service changes for the lines you’ll be using that day. The site lists alternatives. Act like a local: Don’t refer to the different lines by color. We don’t. Just because the 1, 2 and 3 trains are red they do not start or end in the same places. We treat each line as its own.


If you are using the subway while you are here, please consider an unlimited MetroCard or OMNY payment if you anticipate using twelve rides or more within a week by 7 calendar days. IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE U.S., CANADIAN OR MEXICAN CONTACT INFORMATION AND THE TOUR MUST BE CANCELLED OR CHANGED due to emergencies such as severe weather we will not be able to reach you so please call our same day information line at 1-631-491-0326 for updates. There will be no phone updates if the tour is on as scheduled or the guide is running late. If your guide is running late due to a mass transit issue they will try to contact someone in the group to update everyone waiting. There is no phone service between stations if they are stuck. Our guides are prompt. if this happens there is a legitimate issue. Our office is not staffed at most times so do not call as you will not be able to reach anyone. If tours are cancelled for any reason by Food On Foot beyond our control you will receive a full refund. That decision is solely ours and tours are rain or shine.
