We will visit Edam, a World Heritage City since 1996. Since the 16th century, Edam has become one of the most important port cities in the North of Holland, although its worldwide renown is due to the “cheese market” that still takes place in the summer months. We will stop at a farm, where they will show us how Dutch cheese is made by hand
.Next, we head to Volendam through the Polders, places where the country's livestock and agriculture are based. In Volendam, a fishing town, we can take a picture with typical outfits or try some of the fish in the area,
such as cod or herring. Finally, departing from Volendam, we will take the ferry to Marken, a territory that forms a peninsula in the Markermeer and was formerly an island inhabited by fishermen from the area. Its characteristic architecture attracts tourists and travelers all year round.
