Canyoning in the Riale di Mulitt in beautiful Centovalli
This gorge is ideal for beginners and is only a few minutes away from Locarno, Ascona and Lake Maggiore!
Compared to Corippo, our other canyon for beginners, this gorge is less playful in character and less deep, but overall more vertical and therefore perfect for those who want to go a bit higher from the start and are more interested in abseiling than in unusual slides and jumps.
Why
The Riale di Mulitt is a very pleasant canyon and usually allows us to have fun there even when all the other gorges have too much water.
The gorge itself is a successful mix of pretty, more open passages, followed by a few higher waterfalls, which certainly leave an impression. The open sections mean that you always have enough time between abseiling points to gather and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
From the parking lot, we walk to the entrance in 10 minutes. It's uphill for a moment, but most of the time we just hike there. After we have dressed and refreshed ourselves, the preparation follows, during which you will be shown the exact techniques for sliding, jumping and abseiling
.The first abseiling point is not long in coming, here it is time to put what you have just practiced into practice. Then a short jump to clear up, before the highlight of the gorge, the 22-meter high waterfall, which can be overcome either actively or passively, depending on the courage you have shown. We continue to wade through the stream bed, slip through small rock passages, jump here and there, abseile down one or the other time and then climb out of the gorge over ladders and securely. From here, it's 20 minutes back to the car.
There are excellent grottos nearby, and your guides will be happy to advise you.
