Once a royal hunting ground, it's still possible to see wildlife and spot farm animals wandering around the quieter areas of the island park. The best-preserved old part of town is located on this island, tucked away behind the amusement park, Gröna Lund, previously the harbour-side home of sailors and shipyard workers.
