$16 of every ticket price goes towards the Regulated Guide Services on our tours. This portion of your ticket price is not taxed. The base price of your tickets are taxed at 8.5%, the Guide Fees are not taxed.

#Refund/Rescheduling Policy

**Rescheduling**
Rescheduling your tour may be possible depending on the number of days prior to your tour date. Because your space is being guaranteed at the event, rescheduling is done on a case by case basis.

**Refunding**
Refunding amounts are based on the number of days prior to your schedule tour the cancellation is made.

###Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or rebooked without texting or calling us. Rebooking is possible, but not guaranteed and must be done a week prior to your reservation unless impossible situations arise; call 717-476-7428 or text and we will take care of what you need as best we can.

Important Information For Your Tour:



  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for your carriage tour - the ride starts on time.


  • Keep in mind that during prime tour season (mid-June - August) that many of the roads in Gettysburg Borough become congested.




  • We ask that you please allow yourself an adequate amount of time to arrive and park at the tour site.




  • Your ride will run unless unsafe weather so we ask that you please dress appropriately for the day's weather.

Tax FAQ
Tax is the Gettysburg Boro Amusement Tax required by Ordinance 1420-14.


  • The Gettysburg Borough requires organizations such as ours to hold an Amusement License in order to do business which commences, stays or ends within the limits of the Borough of Gettysburg.




  • The Ticket Price of the amusements which originate in the Borough Limit is required by law to be taxed at a rate of 8.5%, collected at time of ticket purchase, reported and paid monthly to the Borough Office.




  • The list price of all items available with Horse Tours of Gettysburg are the base ticket price plus $25 which is used for the payment of the individual Licensed Battlefield Guides and GNMP permit fees.




  • The taxed portion and amount of your purchase can be calculated by subtracting $25 from the posted price of an item before tax, calculating 8.5% of the actual ticket price, and then adding that tax amount back into the total item price.




"Presented by the Victorian Carriage Company..." items are walking tours promoting independent historians who are amusement license holders. The license holder is responsible for reporting and collecting their own admission totals; Horse Tours of Gettysburg is not responsible for payment and/ or reporting of these items.
