About

Auschwitz – the scene of one of the worst crimes in human history, where over a million of people were killed by Nazis. The salt mine in Wieliczka is a world-class landmark visited by more than 1 million tourists every year.

This tour starts in Krakow. You will be picked up in the morning by our English-speaking driver from your hotel or the designated meeting point (see FAQ sectio below). First, you will visit Auschwitz Nazi Concentration Camp and Birkenau Camp. Then, you will visit Wieliczka Salt Mine (the order of sightseeing may be reversed). After the tour you will come back to Krakow in the evening.

The departure time is estimated and the order and timing may change, to be announced before the tour by email.

Thank you for booking with us. The departure time is estimated. We will send you the exact pick-up time and other necessary details one day before the tour by email.
What to bring

  • ID for each person in the group

  • For security reasons maximum size of backpacks or handbags brought into the Auschwitz museum cannot exceed dimensions: 30x20x10 cm. Please leave your bags in a car.

  • Please bring warm clothes. The temperature underground ranges between 14° and 16° C.

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You need to go down 800 steps in the Wieliczka mine. At the beginning, you have to take 350 of them in order to get to the mine. In case you have walking difficulties you can join a group for disabled tourists so that you avoid steps (though you visit fewer chambers).


Changes in Wieliczka Salt Mine

Due to the renovation of the Danilowicz Shaft, from November 22nd 2021 tours for disabled people are suspended. Moreover, the Salt Mine will not be able to provide tourists with descents to level I or possible returns to the surface at the beginning of the tour. The Tourist Route can only be accessed by going down the stairs. After visiting the mine, the return to the surface will take place via the Regis shaft (the center of Wieliczka town, approx. 400 meters away). The renovation is planned to take place until April 2022.
