Itinerary

This activity begins and ends on the north coast of the island, next to the famous Areal de Santa Bárbara beach in the city of Ribeira Grande (+/- 20 minutes by car from the city of Ponta Delgada). At the starting point, we held a safety briefing in approximately 15 minutes, a demonstration of how to use the electric bike and all its functions and distribute the equipment. Once we're done, we're ready to go on a memorable adventure!

We started by going directly to the “heart” of Ribeira Grande, where we will have the opportunity to visit some parishes in this municipality. We know the history, culture and traditions that are manifested in geosites such as the “Fontanário da Ribeira Seca”, the result of a volcanic eruption whose lava flows buried part of the parish of Ribeira Seca. Also the architecture of many old buildings, such as the Church of the Holy Spirit, the City Hall building and the Bridge of the Eight Arches

We continue our adventure surrounded by nature and accompanied by the sound of water coming from various springs that lead us to the Fajã do Redondo Dam. In the Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande we explored the area of volcanic activity, where we found the hot springs used by the hot springs and an area used for cooking stew and other local dishes, cooked slowly by natural

Heading to our next stop, the Miradouro da Coroa da Mata, we followed secondary paths surrounded by a variety of flowers and trees, enjoying panoramic views. We continue to explore the lush landscapes resulting from volcanic eruptions on the island's north coast, passing by the Miradouro de Santa Iria, the port of Santa Iria and the Ponta do Cintrão where the lighthouse is located. Let's return along a dirt road along the coast and observe the unforgettable landscape until we are back on the city streets
