It’s okay if you’ve never tried surfing or are recently new to the sport, that’s why we offer a fun and exciting beginner lesson with guidance from your instructor the whole time. At our beginner level we offer private, semi-private, and small group lessons. Sessions are around two hours long. Our main focus is safety and assuring that everyone enjoys themselves catching waves.
Oahu has many amazing spots to learn how to surf. The world famous North Shore is probably one of the best spots in Hawaii to learn how to catch your first wave. We offer a unique surfing experience suitable for first time wave sliders. Our Professional surf instructors will explain the fundamentals of surfing, reading the surf zone, surfing etiquette, timing and catching the wave also the transition from paddling to standing. We will fine tune your lesson to meet your specific needs. To make it even easier for first-timers a push from your instructor will help you get your first Hawaiian wave.

Check-In Information
- Check in time is 30 min prior to reservation time for all activities
- Our activities take place in different locations, so please see location info below
- We’re a mobile company, so we’ll meet directly at the beach
- Heavy traffic is possible, so stick to the drive times below to avoid delays.
- If you miss your tour time, keep in mind that our activities are non-refundable. You’ll be charged the full value of your activity. Rescheduling incurs an additional fee of $50 plus taxes.
Approximate Drive Times by Car:
- Waikiki: 1.5 hours
- Hawaii Kai: 1.5 hours
- Ko Olina Resort / Aulani: 45 to 60 minutes
- Turtle Bay Resort: 30 to 45 minutes
- Makaha Resort: 2 hours
- Kaneohe / Kailua: 1.5 - 2 hours
- Wahiawa: 30 minutes
If traveling on THE BUS please allow 2.5 hrs. for travel time.
Please be advised that we do not recommend using an uber/lyft/taxi to the North Shore. Those services are very limited on the North Shore and there are no guarantees that you'll find a return service.

Surf Lessons Locations:
Based on wave conditions and time of year, our surf lessons are held at various North Shore locations.
You’ll receive a text message the night before or morning of your lesson with your surf instructor’s name, contact info, and the confirmed location.
- Please contact your instructor only if you can’t find them.
- For questions, cancellations, rescheduling, or if you’re running late, call the office at 808-352-9775. Your instructor cannot assist with these changes.
Parking is free at each location:
- Pua’ena Point Beach Park (Kahalewai Pl, Haleiwa, HI 96712)
- Chuns Beach (61-529 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712)
- Chocolates (Meet at tour & rental location)
Bathrooms:
The closest public bathroom is at Pua’ena Point Beach Park.
Personal Items/Valuables:
- We don’t offer lockers or storage.
- Avoid taking valuables into the water.
- If you leave valuables at our location or take them with you, we’re not responsible for any loss or damage.
