The tour begins with the ascent to Pico da Barrosa (one of the highest peaks on the island), along the south coast, on a road with panoramic views of the central part of the island. The first stop is intended to provide one of the most extraordinary views of Lagoa do Fogo.
The trip continues with a short walking tour of Caldeira Velha, one of the Island's Protected Nature Reserves, where you can enjoy a bath in a hot waterfall.
Stop in the historic center of the city of Ribeira Grande where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the famous liqueurs produced with fruits from the island. Continue along the north coast, visiting the tea factory, the only one of its kind in Europe, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the tea plantation and the north coast, while enjoying a cup of tea. Ascent to the Pico do Ferro viewpoint, where you have a superb view of the crater that surrounds the
Furnas Valley.When you arrive in the Furnas Valley, next to the banks of the romantic lagoon, you can take part in digging up the “cooked in the boiler”, which will be served for lunch. After lunch, visit the boiler area, with fumaroles and thermal and mineral springs where you will
be tested.Return to Ponta Delgada along the island's southern coast. On the way, stop in Vila Franca do Campo — the island's first capital — where you can visit the factory of the famous Queijadas da Vila and from where you can see the Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo, a nature reserve
