Mozart Requiem at the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie Berlin

Experience the great choir and orchestra concert in Berlin! The Requiem by W. A. Mozart has been one of the most popular works of church music for more than 200 years.
The event shines with a breathtaking richness of sound - the combination of concert hall, choir and orchestra lends the performance a unique expressiveness. With the Ensemble Polisono under the direction of conductor Volker Hedtfeld and the Karl Forster Choir, experienced musicians are on stage.
The Requiem in D minor from 1791 is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last composition. Although only about two thirds of it was actually written by Mozart, it is one of his most popular and highly esteemed works. Mozart died while composing it. Joseph Eybler and Franz Xaver Süßmayr, pupils of Mozart, completed the Requiem on behalf of Constanze Mozart, the composer's widow. The unusual circumstances of the commission and the timing of Mozart's early death have also inspired a wealth of myths.

The ensemble, founded by Volker Hedtfeld in the summer of 2019, brings together selected soloists from Berlin to create a unique blend of sound. The Ensemble Polisono Berlin was born out of the desire to bring the multi-layered, pulsating, breathing, vibrant Berlin to life: dialogical, diverse, unconventional, courageous, lively, constantly renewing itself. The Ensemble Polisono Berlin is committed to the contemporary performance of historical music, but also to the discovery and promotion of what is yet to be written. The Karl Forster Choir Berlin was founded by singers from the choir of St. Hedwig's Cathedral and named after its cathedral conductor. The creation of timbre and the pursuit of precision are the main characteristics of the choir's work, which have made it an unmistakable choir on the Berlin choral scene. Under the artistic direction of Volker Hedtfeld, he always succeeds in igniting the spark between choir and audience, so that every concert becomes a special listening experience.
