You can easily reach the good spots to search for the Northern Lights by snowmobile! The snowy forests look truly magical in the darkness, especially when they are lit by the moon and stars. Snowmobiling after dark is an experience in itself even if the auroras do not show up for us. We will stop along the way to prepare a tasty snack on the fire, just like the locals. Don’t forget to keep your eyes on the sky - we may get to admire a light show if luck is on our side. Feel free to bring a tripod for your camera for optimal night shots.
We recommend having an early dinner before the departure. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements when booking as these cannot be guaranteed on the spot.
The driving time is approximately 2 hours and the driving distance depends on the driving skills of the group.
Two adults ride on one snowmobile, single riding is possible for an extra charge.
Children 4 - 14 years will travel in a sleigh pulled behind the guide's snowmobile when child price is paid.
Children over 140 cm can sit on a snowmobile, when paying adult price for the tour.
The driver of a snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid B driver’s license. Customers intending to drive a snowmobile must bring their driving license with them on the tour. According to Finnish traffic regulations, a copy or a photograph of the driving license cannot be accepted. If you do not bring your driving license you won't be able to drive and no refund can be offered.
Please note: The northern lights are a natural occurrence and we are unable to guarantee activity, vibrancy or colour on the evening of the tour.
For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.
For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
*Note that in the event the client requests a refund for any reason, Tour Desk reserves the right to charge a 3% administration fee to cover costs incurred.
