Por «The Lower End» nos referimos a la parte de Rathlin que apunta al sur, hacia Ballycastle y Fair Head. Se llama así porque tiene una elevación más baja en comparación con la otra parte. Esa porción más grande apunta hacia el oeste y se conoce como «El extremo superior». Un arroyo que entra en el mar junto a la iglesia de Santo Tomás forma el límite entre los dos extremos
.Esta caminata se lleva a cabo en una combinación de carreteras asfaltadas y senderos designados. Hay diferentes rutas disponibles, así que pregunte al momento de hacer la reserva. Si caminas hasta el faro de Rue a lo largo de los espectaculares acantilados de Roonivoolin, recorrerás aproximadamente la mitad de la isla. Mantén los oídos bien abiertos para escuchar el característico canto de la choga: un ave poco común en las islas. Altacarry o Rathlin East Lighthouse son otra opción. Lo siento, no se puede ver desde el semáforo este. Si visitas el Centro de Aves Marinas de la RSPB (al otro lado de Rathlin), podrás
ver el interior de ese faro.Escucha la historia de Robert Bruce o las historias de las muchas otras batallas libradas en Rathlin. Puedes caminar hasta la solitaria cabaña de la Guardia Costera, en busca de buitres, cuervos
y peregrinos.Esta caminata dura alrededor de 4 horas, prepárate para que se enturbie de vez en cuando. INADECUADO PARA NIÑOS.
